Plant ‘phenomics’

Phenomics is an area of biology concerned with the measurement of phenomes - the physical and biochemical traits of organisms - as they change in response to genetic mutation and environmental influences. 

This science includes developing technologies to obtain accurate measurements of plant canopies in the field.
 Phenomics research is leading to the development of new and improved crops, healthier food and more sustainable agricultural practices. Part of this work involves obtaining accurate measurements of plant canopies in the field.
